The club was founded in the summer of 1949 and they soon made a great performance and played in the Romanian First League , finishing 13th (Last) in 1955 . Since then, they played only in the second and third league .
In 2008 the team finished second in the series and participated at the Playoffs for the promotion to the Liga II . There they made a good impression but failed to qualify.
