AbdulAziz Saud Al-Babtain (Template:Lang-ar; born in Kuwait in 1936)[citation needed] is a Kuwaiti poet and businessman. He is currently the Head of the Al-Babtain Foundation for Poetic Creativity.
Current efforts
Al-Babtain has established and financed a number of cultural ventures including the Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Prize for Imam Al Bukhari grandchildren, which is an annual prize of U.S. $100,000 to restore cultural bridges between the Arab Nation and the recently independent Asian Islamic states,[citation needed] and Saud Al Babtain's Kuwaiti Commission for Post Graduate
He has also established the Al-Babtain Central Library for Arabic poetry,[1] which opened to the public in January 2002 and is the only library of its kind in Kuwait.
In 2004 he established the Al Babtain Translation Center[2] to support translations into and from Arabic, as a supplement to the translation project implemented in co-operation with UNESCO in Paris to translate works from Arabic to foreign languages. The Al Babtain Translation Center is directed by Dr. Mohammed Rumaihi.
The Al-Babtain Foundation for Poetic Creativity called in January 2016 for contributions to an Arabic epic on themes of peace, tolerance and love.[3]
