Sky Rojo (transl.Red Sky)[2] is an upcoming Spanish television series, created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato. It will be produced by Vancouver Media and distributed by Netflix.[3] Two seasons of eight 25-minute episodes are planned.[1] Eduardo Chapero-Jackson and Javier Quintas serve as directors.[3]

Filming began in Madrid on November 18, 2019,[1] and later moved to Arico on Tenerife.[3] Filming will move to Castilla–La Mancha in early 2020 and take place there for approximately four months.[4]

Premise

A Cuban, an Argentine and a Spanish woman, all of them prostitutes, flee from their pimp. Having committed several serious crimes, they cannot go to the police for help. According to the creators, the series is a hunt and shows "the impunity, ambiguity and brutal reality of prostitution, and the psychological portraits of those on both sides of the scale."[1]
