Thomas L. James is a brigadier general of the United States Army currently serving as the commander of the Joint Task Force–Space Defense of the United States Space Command in Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado.

He had previously served as J3 Director of the Joint Force Space Component Command of the United States Strategic Command[1] and deputy commander of the Joint Functional Component Command for Space. James was also assigned as the Director of Space Policy Implementation of Office of the Under Secretary for Policy, Office of the Secretary of Defense.[1]
