Javier Gutiérrez Álvarez (born 17 January 1971) is a Spanish actor.[1] He has appeared in more than fifty films since 1997.

He portrayed Falconetti in Zipi y Zape y el club de la canica (2013).[2] He portrayed Tomás de Torquemada in Assassin's Creed (2016).[3] He first declined it because he was filming El olivo, by Icíar Bollaín, but then he was convinced by the director Justin Kurzel in a Skype call.[4] He portrayed the fictional character Sergeant Jimeno Costa in 1898: Los últimos de Filipinas (2016).[5][6] He portrayed Álvaro in El autor (2017),[7] for which he received the Goya Award for Best Actor.[8]
