Ethmia praeclara is a moth in the family Depressariidae. It is found in Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, New Guinea and Australia.

The wingspan is 33–37 mm (1.3–1.5 in). The forewings are overlaid with 18 black dots on a grey background and a row of eleven marginal dots. The hindwings are orange-yellow, but the apical patch is dark brown and covers the outer sixth of the wing.[1]
