'Amritsar Ring Road is an under construction 4/6 lane access-controlled highway in Amritsar city of Punjab. This project is divided into 2 packages . The first package is part of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway and starts from Rajewala village and passes through Mudhal , Loharka terminating at Harse Chhina. The second package starts from Rajewala village and passes through Chabba, Khasa and terminates at Harse Chhina thus making a highway ring around Amritsar. Total cost of the project is estimated at INR 1150 cr.[1]

Land Acquisition

A total of 264 ha of land is to be acquired for Rajewala, Chabba, Khasa, Harse Chhina route. Land acquisition notification was issued in July 2020. The acquisition of land for Rajewala, Mudhal, Harse Chhina package is part of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway.

Status updates

  • June 2020: Amritsar ring road passed by NHAI under Bharatmala pariyojana.
  • July 2020: Land acquisition notification issued for Amritsar ring road.[2]
