Yu Shuxin (Chinese: 虞书欣; pinyin: Yú Shūxīn, born December 18, 1995), also known as Esther Yu, is a Chinese actress and singer. After making her acting debut in the 2016 drama Border Town Prodigal, she gained recognition for her role in the hit television series Find Yourself (2020) and I've Fallen for You (2020). She is also currently a member of Chinese girl group THE9.
Career
In 2015, Yu made her acting debut in the wuxia drama Border Town Prodigal which premiered in 2016.[1] She then played a supporting role as Consort Liu in the historical drama The Advisors Alliance.[2] Yu subsequently gained recognition for her appearance in the variety program Grade One Freshman.[3]
In 2018, Yu played her first leading role in the school romance drama Youth.[4]
In 2019, Yu starred in the second season of hit romance comedy My Amazing Boyfriend as the female lead.[5]
In 2020, Yu gained popularity and recognition with her role as Cai Minmin in the hit romance drama Find Yourself.[6] The same year, Yu played the female lead in historical romance drama I've Fallen For You.[7] Yu also participated in the variety program Youth With You 2, becoming one of the most popular trainees.[8] In the finale, she came in second and successfully debuted as a member of THE9.[9]
