Sunny Kaushal is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films. He is the younger brother of actor Vicky Kaushal and son of action director Sham Kaushal.
Kaushal studied at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India but later left it to learn acting. He worked as an assistant director on the films My Friend Pinto (2011) and Gunday (2014). After making his acting debut with the box office flop Sunshine Music Tours and Travels (2016),[1] he had his first commercial success by portraying a hockey player in the sports drama Gold (2018).
Life and career
Kaushal started his acting career with playing roles in theater plays and skits. He made his Bollywood debut in the 2016 comedy-drama road film Sunshine Music Tours and Travels. The same year he also appeared in the TV Mini-Series Official Chukyagiri. In 2017 he was part of the short film Love at First Sight. In the 2018 historical sports-drama film based upon the national hockey team's title at the 1948 Summer Olympics he portrayed the role of Himmat Singh,[2] a character inspired by Balbir Singh Sr.. Kaushal was nominated in the 25th Screen Awards in the Best Supporting Actor for his role.[3] In the same year, Kaushal also went on to be part of the TV Mini-Series Official CEOgiri which was a spin-off of the 2016 series Official Chukyagiri. The short film The Embrace in which Kaushal plays the role of Siddharth was nominated in the Drama Short Film category at the Filmfare Awards.[4] Kaushal then appeared in a dance based film Bhangra Paa Le.[5]
