Bhaduri is a Bengali Hindu Brahmin surname used by the members of the Bhaduri family of Kolkata. Bhaduris are Barendra brahmins of the Kashyapa gotra.[1] They were originally from Bhaturiya village inside the undivided British-Indian territory (presently in Bangladesh) but settled in British Calcutta ( now Kolkata) during 19th century. Most of the members of Bhaduri family have contributed significantly to the development of Indian-Bengali art, culture, literature, and academia since Bengal renaissance era during the British Raj.
