Labinot Fahredin Kabashi (born 28 February 2000) is a Kosovan footballer who plays as a midfielder for Spanish club Barcelona B.
Club career
Early career and injury problems
Kabashi joined Barcelona's youth setup from Gimnàstic de Tarragona when he was 10 years old.[2] He had many problems with injuries during his journey as a footballer and everything starts in November 2016, when suffered an ACL injury that kept him on the sidelines for a year and a half,[3] the same injury you repeat in March 2018, keeping him out again for almost a year.[4] On 9 February 2019, Kabashi was injured seven minutes after coming off the bench in the first game with under-19 team after recovering from injury in a match against CE Europa.[5][6]
Contract renewal and rise to the second team
On 15 February 2019, Kabashi renewed with the club until 30 June 2021.[7][8] On 30 January 2020, he was promoted to Barcelona B,[9] and receiving squad number 10.[1] Kabashi is expected to be available to the team at the beginning of 2020–21 season.[10]
International career
On 2 October 2016, Kabashi at the age of 16 years received a call-up from Kosovo for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification matches against Croatia and Ukraine.[11][12] he an unused substitute in these matches after the club through an indirect request sent through his father ask the national team not to activate Kabashi in these matches, because there could be problems after activation.[13]
Personal life
Kabashi was born in Vantaa, Finland[1] to Kosovo Albanian father from village Poljance of Skenderaj and Finnish mother.[14] He seen as a technical player, who can operate as either a midfielder or a winger. Kabashi has been compared to Spanish player Andrés Iniesta.[15]
