Pimpinio (/pɪmpɪˈnaɪoʊ/ pim-pi-NY-oh) is a small township in Victoria, Australia 15 km from the City of Horsham. At the 2006 census, Pimpinio had a population of 338.[3] By 2016 census, this had reduced to 184 people.[1]
Pimpinio Post Office opened on 9 March 1875 and closed in 1980.[4]
Sports
The town has an Australian Rules football team and netball team competing in the Horsham & District Football League.
- Football- Under 14s, Under 17s, Reserves & Seniors
In 2005 & 2006 the Seniors won the HDFL premiership, thus making them back to back premiers, the success did not last long as they were knocked out of the 2007 finals.[citation needed]
Netball- 13 & Under, 15 & Under, 17 & Under, C Grade, B Grade & A Grade In 2007 the C Grade netball team won the HDFL (Horsham District Football League) premiership by beating a very strong Edenhope-Apsley Side.[citation needed]
They also have a cricket side, who have had a bit of success.
Golfers play at the course of the Pimpinio Golf Club on the Western Highway.[5]
