Presidential elections are scheduled to be held in Cape Verde in 2021. The previous presidential election, held on 2 October 2016,[1] saw President Jorge Carlos Fonseca of the Movement for Democracy (MpD) re-elected with 74% of the vote.[2]

Electoral system

The President of Cape Verde is elected using the two-round system.[3][4]
