Beatmania is the first and only version of the music video game beatmania IIDX series to be released in the United States. It was released by Konami on March 28, 2006, for the PlayStation 2 video game console.[1]

Reception

Writing for PSX Extreme, Cavin Smith viewed Beatmania as an entry in the Beatmania IIDX series, since it featured similar gameplay revolving around seven keys and a turntable.[2] G4's video game show X-Play gave the game 2/5 stars, declaring that the game was a rip-off of the then-recently released Guitar Hero.[3]
