Silsila Pyaar Ka is an Indian television series that aired on STAR Plus from January to June 2016.[1] It was produced by Rashmi Sharma and Pawan Kumar Marut for Rashmi Sharma Telefilms and starred Abhay Vakil and Chhavi Pandey. It is the remake of the Star Jalsha show Tumi Asbe Bole.

Plot

Raunak Tiwari is a college student, who has an overly possessive mother Janaki. He develops crush on his colleague Kajal Saxena and writes a love letter with his friend Akshay Bansal's help. Janaki forces Akshay to sign letter with his own name. Kajal is enchanted and marries Akshay. Raunak feels betrayed.

5 years later

Akshay and Kajal have a daughter Sakshi, who has health problems since birth. Kajal gets to know how Janaki forced Akshay to sign the love letter that resulted in their marriage. She attempts to mend broken relationship between Raunak and Akshay.

During Raunak's sister Neeti's wedding with Kajal's brother Vinay, Akshay forces his way into Raunak's car to apologize but an accident fatally injures him. Janaki arranged Raunak's marriage to her friend Kamini's daughter Munmun.

Kajal marries Raunak to fulfil Akshay's last wish. Janaki refuses to accept them. Discovering Akshay was killed accidentally in an attempt to murder Raunak, Kajal tries to find the killer.

Raunak's cousin Sanket tries to hack his bank accounts but is caught and arrested. The killer is actually his father Pradeep. Akshay's mother Radhika exacts revenge on Neeti, believing Janaki was behind Akshay's death.

Sanket's mother Vidhi vows to take revenge on Janaki with Munmun's and Kamini's help. Janaki pretends to accept Kajal and Sakshi, but schemes against them. Sanjana (Raunak's cousin) and Radhika try to ruin Vinay and Neeti's marriage.

Neeti gets pregnant. Vinay finds out Sanjana and Radhika are trying to kill the baby. Sanjana apologises for her actions. Radhika reforms and is forgiven by Neeti. Kajal comes upon Janaki's brother Harsh acting suspiciously along with her. She follows them.

Kajal discovers about Raunak's sick father Randhir, who has been mistreated by Janaki. Raunak hates Randhir believing he misbehaved with Janaki. Randhir recovers. Janaki attempts to poison him but is confronted by Kajal.

Raunak is incensed at Kajal's accusations. Kajal drinks the poisoned milk intended for Randhir, and becomes unconscious. Raunak confronts Janaki and Kajal falls in love with him. Vidhi, Kaamini and Munmun forcefully try to get Janaki's property.

Raunak and Kajal come for rescue with the police. Janaki realises her mistakes and the whole family is reunited. Vidhi, Munmun and Kamini are arrested.

Development

Initially titled as Saajan, it was later renamed Silsila Pyaar Ka before its premiere.[11]

After a month of launch, in February Sehban Azim's character was killed abruptly, making his sudden exit, for bringing a twist.[12] However, soon in May, he was made to return when makers approached him.[13]

In early March 2016, Shilpa Shirodkar while enacting a sequence while walking in staircase lost her balance and fell. With her unable to walk due to her injured back, her role was tweaked for her to take rest for few days.[14] Later, in the same month, Abhay Vakil got injured when iron nails pierced his toes while running for a sequence.[2] In April, the shoot was halted for a while when a rod fell on the head of the lead actress Chhavi Pandey who was hurt while shooting.[15]
