Bibop G. Gresta (born Gabriele Gresta) is an Italian serial entrepreneur, a global expert in finance, transportation, media, and he also specializes in mass market community building.[1] He is the Co-Founder and the Former Chairman of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies and the Founder of Hyperloop Italia.[2] He is a world-renowned speaker, featured at the World Economic Forum, TechCrunch, United Nations and Ted Talks, among others, focused on transportation and human mobility [citation needed]. He is a respected activist in transhumanism and business ethics.[3]

Early life

At the age of 15, he was the director of software development at the Italian division of Alpha Center (An American company). In the past, Gresta worked as a TV writer for the Italian version of MTV.[4]

Entrepreneurial career

He founded Bibop, S.p.A., a content production and distribution company. In 1999 he sold 40% of the company to Telecom Italia for 11 bln Italian lira. He co-founded the influential startup incubator Digital Magics, responsible for the startup of more than 70 companies. In 2011, he entered the venture capital market sitting on the board of two stock listed companies in the U.K. and Germany with investments of more than 70 million pounds (net asset value of more than 100 million).[5]

He was involved with a number of startups and new-media ventures, until moving to the United States in 2013. At the end of 2013 he co-founded Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, and has since appeared widely as a speaker extolling the technology.[6][7]

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies

As Chairman of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (also known as "HyperloopTT") he led a team of 800+ professionals in 40 countries. HTT was the first to begin development of the Hyperloop, and is the largest company ever built upon a collaborative business ecosystem.[8] Gresta has spoken about Hyperloop technology at the World Economic Forum, the United Nations, and TED talks.[9]
