Dangme West District was a former district in Greater Accra Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 until March 2012, part of the district was split off to become Ningo Prampram District bu Legislative Instruments (L.I.) 2132 and 2137; thus the remaining original part was renamed to become Shai Osudoku District.[2] The district assembly was located in the southeast part of Greater Accra Region and had Dodowa as its capital town.
