Qualification tournament for the 2010 Olympics

The Bulgarian women's team has competed only at a few high level international tournaments. First, they played in the qualification tournament for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver. They played four games against Slovakia, Croatia, Italy, and Latvia, losing all four games in blowouts (39–0 against Latvia, 30–1 against Croatia, 41–0 against Italy, and a record breaking 82–0 loss to Slovakia).[3] The only goal was scored by forward, Olga Gospodinova assisted by the defensemen Elina Milanova and Sofiya Iliycheva.[4]

In 2011 the Bulgarian Women team played in their first World Championship competition. They were scheduled to compete in the 2009 Division V tournament in Gdańsk Poland, but it was cancelled.[5]
