Development

In a 2018 interview, Knoxville said that he is open to making a fourth Jackass film that may feature some new cast members, "just to bring in some fresh blood into it."[1] He said that he continues to write ideas for a Jackass film and that "a ton" have been set aside should the project receive the green-light. In July 2019, cast member Chris Raab said that he had interviewed the Jackass crew on his Bathroom Break podcast and noted that everyone was still open to a fourth film should Knoxville, Tremaine, and Jonze agree.[1]

In an interview with The A.V. Club, Steve-O had said he was surprised the film even came to fruition.[2]

Filming

Filming commenced on December 14, 2020.[3] On December 15, 2020, Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O were hospitalized due to on-set injuries.[4][5]

Release

On December 19, 2019, Paramount confirmed that a fourth Jackass film is set for production and scheduled for release on March 5, 2021.[6] In April 2020, the film was delayed to July 2, 2021.[7] In July, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the film was delayed again to September 3, 2021.[8]
