An antique Weapons of Moroland plaque, on display at the Quirino-Syquia Museum in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, featuring taming, among other weapons

A Taming is a shield traditionally used by the Moro of the Philippines. It is made of tightly woven rattan. Its origin is uncertain: various scholars suggest it comes from Maranaos, Chinese, Moluccan, or Spanish.[1] In Indonesian language, Tameng is a general term for shield.
