The Adaklu District is one of the 25 districts in the Volta Region of Ghana. Its capital and administrative centre is Adaklu Waya.

History

The Adaklu District was one of the districts created in 2012 by then president John Atta Mills, and was officially inaugurated on 28 June 2012.[1]

Boundaries

The district is carved out of the former Adaklu-Anyigbe District.

Administration

The district is headed by a District Chief Executive appointed by the President of Ghana in consultation with the local District Assembly. The Assembly consists of elected representatives. The district is represented in the parliament of Ghana by the Member of Parliament for the Adaklu constituency whose boundaries coincide with that of the district.
