Adriana Cataño is an American actress and television host. She has acted in Latin soap operas and has hosted programs on Univision Telemundo and Telefutura.

Biography

Cataño was born in Miami, Florida, and is of Colombian origin. She studied Broadcast Journalism at Florida International University. She speaks Spanish, English and French. She has been featured in Latin American as well as USA television programs. She has worked for the top Hispanic networks: Univision, TV Azteca, Fox Sports America's, Telefutura and Telemundo. She was the anchor of "Edicion Especial" a live-television show based on the entertainment industry, she was the host of Cinemundo and hosted most of Telemundo's Specials. She also worked on Don Francisco's Sabado Gigante which is Univision's highest rated show for 7 years being part of the cast of La Familia Fernandez. Hispanics have seen her regularly on top rated shows such as Despierta America, Un Nuevo Dia, Sabado Gigante, El Gordo y La Flaca, Cristina, Suelta La Sopa, Escandalo, Ventaneando, Primer Impacto, Don Francisco Presenta, "Viva La Familia de Todo Bebe," just to name a few.

Career

Cataño is currently working on a reality show for WE TV Network about Latina Celebrities and the show will air in 2016. She also worked on Nickelodeon LatinAmerica's "Grachi," seasons one and two. This series was #1 in Mexico and 27 other countries. Grachi won "favorite show" at the Kids Choice Awards twice. She played Cristina Esquivel in the series. Adriana was also the anchor on VME Network's new show titled "Pase VIP." The show will air on Monday July 18 at 7:30 PM. "Pase VIP" is a 30-minute entertainment news show which is right up her alley. Adriana has acted in numerous television programs. She has co-starred in Latin soap operas, such as "Grachi" (Nickelodeon LatinoAmerica), Belinda, Secreto de Amor, Morelia, MariElena, Amor Latino and Cadena Braga. She has also been in American films and TV shows, such as Bad Boys, Holy Man, Miami Sands, ABC series Moon Over Miami and was the lead in Paradigm Pictures Independent Film "Zombie Farm." This is a ground-breaking film which was shot in English and Spanish.

Outside of television, she has been featured on the covers and in featured articles in magazines and newspapers, such as FHM, Selecta, Ocean Drive, People, Cosmopolitan, HOLA, Conexiones Magazine, Gente Latina, El Especial, Open Your Eyes, TV y Novelas, TV Notas, MIRA[disambiguation needed], La Opinión, Men's Fitness, El Norte, El Reforma and The Miami Herald among others. Adriana has been the spokesperson for Rooms To Go (largest chain of furniture stores in the U.S.) since 1995 which makes it evident she is loved by Hispanics in the US.

All of her sexy calendars 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 sold out completely. Adriana is a household name among Hispanics. She is a favorite among the top advertising agencies in the US and is the "voice" of major television and radio campaigns for brands such as McDonald's, Smirnoff Vodka, Alltel Wireless, Florida Lottery, etc.
