Akmal Khan, or Akmal, (born 11 Nov 1929, Lahore, Pakistan, died 11 June 1967) was a Pakistani film actor and singer.[1]

Early life and career

Akmal Khan got a start in the film world by first becoming a film make-up artist and then he was introduced as an actor by the renowned Pakistani film producer-director Anwar Kamal Pasha in his hit film Qatil (1955).[3] In 1956, he appeared as a lead actor in the Punjabi language film Jabroo (1956). This was a hit film and Akmal got his breakthrough into the Pakistani film industry from this film.[1] His most successful 'Golden Jubilee' film Malangi (1965) was the peak of his career. He died on 11 June 1967 at age 37 which was a shock to all his fans in Pakistan.[2]
