Alex Hutchinson is an Australian video game director and designer from Australia. He is best known for his work as the creative director for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed III and Far Cry 4.

Personal life

Alex Hutchinson was born in Australia where he completed his education at Melbourne University, obtaining an archaeology degree and another one in creative writing. He is now based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada working for Ubisoft.[1]

Career

Hutchinson started in the video games industry where he landed a job at Torus Games as a designer. Alex got his big break into the video games industry where he landed a job at EA subsidiary, Maxis where he worked on the popular gaming series, The Sims.[2] Later on he ended up becoming a creative director/video game director at EA Montreal. He later moved to Ubisoft Montreal in the same role which he had at EA.

At Ubisoft Montreal Hutchinson has worked on Assassin's Creed III and Far Cry 4 as a creative director/video game director.

Assassin's Creed III was showcased at E3 in 2012, E3 2012 & Far Cry 4 in E3 2014, in which Far Cry 4 was presented by Hutchinson himself.[3] [4]

Achievements

Assassin's Creed III won the Outstanding Achievement in Animation award at 2013 D.I.C.E. Interactive Achievement Awards.[5]

Far Cry 4 won the British Academy Games Awards award for Original Music & Behind the Voice Actors Awards for best Voice Acting.[6]
