The Plum Card is a charge card issued by American Express' OPEN small business division in the fall of 2007. Initially there were to be only 10,000 cards issued. Some of the first 10,000 cardmembers were featured in advertising. In the spring of 2008, additional applications were made available.

The card's color, as the name suggests, is plum, a deep purple.

The Plum Card offers cardmembers the option of an early pay discount of 1.5%, (to those who any amount as long as their minimum payment is covered within ten days of the statement closing date) or an "extra days to pay" option that allows you to pay 10% of the new balance by the first please-pay-by date and revolve the remaining balance only until the next please-pay-by date. Cardholders are allowed up to 99 employee cards fee free.[1]
