Andrés Carrasco (biologist)
Andrés Carrasco (1946 in Buenos Aires – May 10, 2014) was an Argentine molecular biologist. He was known for claiming the discovery of the adverse effects of glyphosate used in transgenic crops ingredient in Roundup pesticide Monsanto.[1][2][3] His conclusions, however, have been strongly contested.[4][5] He was president and Head of Laboratory embryology (CONICET) of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA).
Carrasco died in Buenos Aires from a heart attack, aged 67.[6]
