Andrei Ionuț Radu known as Andrei Radu[1][2][3][4] or Ionuț Radu[5][6][7][8][9][10] (Romanian pronunciation: [anˈdrej joˈnut͡s ˈradu]; born 28 May 1997) is a Romanian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Italian club Genoa.

Club career

Internazionale

On 14 May 2016, Radu made his senior debut against Sassuolo as a substitute for Juan Pablo Carrizo in the 72nd-minute of a 1–3 away defeat on the last day of the Serie A season.[11] On 4 October, Radu pened a new four-year deal, signing until June 2020.[12]

Loan to Avellino

On 15 July 2017, Radu was loaned to Serie B club Avellino with option to make a permanent move.[13] On 6 August he made his debut for Avellino in the second round of Coppa Italia in a 1–0 home win over Matera.[14] On 13 August, Radu played in the third round of Coppa Italia in a 3–1 away defeat against Hellas Verona.[15] On 18 September he made his Serie B debut for Avellino in a 1–1 home draw against Venezia.[16] On 24 October he kept his first clean sheet for Avellino in Serie B, a 1–0 home win over Pro Vercelli.[17] On 27 January 2018 he kept his second clean sheet in a 0–0 home draw against Cremonese.[18] On 28 April he kept his third clean sheet in a 0–0 away draw against Carpi.[19] Radu ended his loan to Avellinoo with 24 appearances, 5 clean sheets and 30 goals conceded.[20]

Genoa

In June 2018, Radu was sold to Serie A side Genoa for reported €9 million.[21][22] Radu made his club debut on 26 September against Chievo, keeping a clean sheet.[23]

International career

Radu represented Romania at Under-21 level. He played for Romania U-21 in the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 championship qualification, on 13 June 2016 he made his debut at U21 level in a 2–0 away win over Liechtenstein U21.[24] Radu captained both of Romania's qualification matches in September of 2018, saving a Portugal U21 penalty to preserve a win, and keeping a clean sheet in Romania's victory over Bosnia U21.[25]
