Anitra Ford (born September 3, 1942) is an American actress, model, poet, and photographer. She was one of the original models on the game show The Price Is Right from the show's relaunching in 1972 until the end of 1976, when she left the program. Ford also appeared in the opening scenes of The Longest Yard (1974) as Melissa, the girlfriend of Burt Reynolds' character, Paul Crewe. She gave birth to Erin Johnson on July 14, 1962 in Los Angeles, CA.

Career

Ford was a fashion model on the West Coast and in New York in the 1960s. Before becoming a model, she acted on the stage from an early age. In the 1970s, her modeling career led to acting in television and film. Ford's credits include The Big Bird Cage (1972), Invasion of the Bee Girls (1973), Stacey (1973), Messiah of Evil (1973) and Dirty O'Neil (1974). Often camp and comedic, Ford garnered roles of emancipated women who were comfortable with their sexuality.

Ford's television credits include S.W.A.T., Banacek, The Streets of San Francisco, The Odd Couple, Love American Style, Starsky and Hutch, Baretta, Columbo and Mannix. She also played the renegade Amazon in the TV movie Wonder Woman starring Cathy Lee Crosby.

After leaving The Price Is Right, Ford became a photographer and poet. Her artwork has been featured in Southern California galleries.
