Ann Shoket

Ann Shoket (born June 16, 1972) is an American magazine writer and editor, and the former editor-in-chief of Seventeen magazine.[1]

Education

Shoket graduated in 1990 from Pennsbury High School in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania.[2] She received her BA from New York University and earned a certificate in Media Management from The New School.[3]

Career

She was named the editor-in-chief of Seventeen in January 2007, succeeding Atoosa Rubenstein.[4] She began her career as a reporter at Steven Brill's The American Lawyer, then created the webzine Tag, an online community of artists and writers. Shoket was also senior editor with the Parade family of publications, and senior editor of CosmoGIRL! magazine.[5] While at CosmoGIRL! she created a "CosmoGIRL! Born to Lead" patch program with The Girl Scouts and she developed a national leadership survey with The White House Project.[6]

She has also appeared in several episodes of the reality show series America's Next Top Model as a judge.[7][8]
