APNA Channel (Template:Lang-pnb Template:Lang-pb) is a Punjabi language satellite television channel broadcasting from Thailand.[1] It was launched on 14 October 2004 and broadcasts entertainment programs in Punjabi. It also broadcasts English-language programs dubbed in Punjabi. APNA Channel is part of the APNA TV Network which also include the news channel APNA News and the Seraiki-language channel Kook TV.
Viewership
The major target viewership of APNA Channel include Pakistan as Punjabi language is spoken and understood by much of the population of Punjab. It is also understood in large portions of Sindh, Pothohar, Saraiki Provience and Khyber Pakhtunkwah; in regions where languages very similar to it or its dialects are spoken(such as Hindko, Pothohari and Seraiki). The Channel is also targeting the Punjabi speaking communities from the South Asia, settled in Europe, Middle East, the Persian Gulf region, Far east, Africa and Australia. APNA TV has many viewers across Pakistan and Punjabi speaking areas of India such as Punjab, Delhi, Northern Haryana, Northern Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh & large part of Jammu & Kashmir.[2]
Availability
APNA Channel is available on satellite via Thaicom 5 as well as on cable operators all around Pakistan.[3] APNA Channel is also available on PTCL Smart IPTV.[4]
Mission
The channel's mission is to become a channel of happenings and events narrowing rural and urban gap.[5]
