Arabsiyo is a city in northwestern Somalia, located about 30 km west of Hargeisa. Arabsiyo is known for its major farming area. It is also a resort town popular for special occasions such as weddings and Eid celebrations. Arabsiyo has an estimated population of 20,000, and is growing rapidly.

Arabsio has a three valleys located on the West, Central and on the Eastern of the city with a number of farming villages such as Huluq, Agamsa, Beeyo-Qalooce, Dhagaxmadoobe, Biyomacaan, Laas Xadhaadh and Gogeysa towards Gabiley city.

The history of Somalia shows that the first modern farming started in this city in the early nineteenth century when the British army (who were ruling the country as one of their protectorates) set up a base on the outskirts of the city.[citation needed] The older generations talk about how the British enjoyed their time in this beautiful city and their love of hunting birds coming into the valleys especailly during Winter times.

In addition to its farming importance, it also emerged during the test carried out in the 1980s by the then government that there are signs of Gold gemstones presence in Arabsiyo and its surroundings.[citation needed] 9°41′N 43°46′E / 9.683°N 43.767°E / 9.683; 43.767
