Asherville is an unincorporated, census-designated place rural area in Mitchell County, Kansas, United States.

History

The first settlement at Asherville was made in 1866 at the Asher Creek, from which the community takes its name.[1] By 1910, Asherville had about 125 inhabitants.[2]

Asherville had the oldest post office in Mitchell County.[2] It opened in 1869, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1980.[3]
