Ashleigh Murray (born January 18, 1987) is an American actress and singer.
Career
Murray portrays Josie McCoy, “a gorgeous, snooty and ambitious girl who is the lead singer for the popular band Josie and the Pussycats” in the CW's teen drama Riverdale.[1]
Previously, Murray worked on the WB's The Following, and appeared in two episodes of TVLand's Younger.
Murray starred in the Netflix movie Deidra & Laney Rob a Train in 2017. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2017. It was released on March 17, 2017 by Netflix.
Murray is represented by Jago Ciro Entertainment, and Innovative Artists Talent and Literary Agency.[2]
Personal life
Murray was born in Kansas City, MO. Early on her family moved to Oakland, California, where Murray enjoyed studying piano, jazz and hip-hop. After graduating high school, she moved to New York city where she studied at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, graduating in 2009.
