Ashok Chandulal Bhatt was a Speaker of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. He was earlier Minister for Health, Law and Justice for the Government of Gujarat.

He entered public life in 1956 through Mahagujarat Movement and joined the Jansangh in 1960.[1] He was very vocal in favour of banning gutka and other tobacco products altogether in the state.[2] He also took part in Nav Nirman Movement.[3]

Ashok Bhatt died due to multiple organ failure in SAL Hospital, Ahmedabad on September 29, 2010 at 10:45pm where he was undergoing treatment of heart problem for nearly 3 weeks.[4]
