Atlassian is software company based in Australia which makes products for the enterprise, and software developers in particular.[1]

Products

Broadly speaking, Atlassian products Crucible, FishEye, Bamboo, Clover, and JIRA Studio are targeted specifically at programmers working with a code base. On the other hand, tools such as its popular wiki Confluence,[2] and bug and issue tracker JIRA may be used by anyone,[3] and Atlassian is thought of as an enterprise social software vendor.[4] Atlassian products are not open source for the most part, but are sold under a license which permits customers to view and modify code so long as they don't redistribute or resell it.[5]

Company

Atlassian was founded in Sydney in 2002 by Mike Cannon-Brookes and Scott Farquhar, and has been self-funded since its founding. It now also has offices in San Francisco, Amsterdam and Tokyo.[1]

Atlassian is particularly well-known for focusing on serving Agile software development, as well as practicing Agile itself.[6]
