Ahmed Ibrahim is the member of parliament for the constituency. He was elected on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and won a majority of 5,645 votes representing 52.76%[2] to become the MP. He defeated Joe Danquah who had 4,950 votes representing 46.27% who stood on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). .
