Basangouda Ramangouda Patil Yatnal (born 13 December 1963) is a former Minister of State, Textiles Vijayapura in Third Vajpayee Ministry from 1 July 2002 to 8 September 2003. He was also a Minister of State, Railways from 8 September 2003 to 16 May 2004. He represented the Bijapur constituency of Karnataka in 13th Lok Sabha and 14th Lok Sabha of India and was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) political party.He is the BJP MLA from Vijayapura earlier known as Bijapur.

He joined Janata Dal (Secular) on 22 January 2010. [2] He later returned to Bharatiya Janata Party on 17 November 2013.

Since the early 1990s he is serving as the President of the prestigious Shri Siddeshwar Samsthe, (a Trust managing many educational institutions and Shri Siddheshwar Temple in Vijayapura).

He is now the MLA of Vijayapur.

On 26 July 2018, Yatnal claimed that intellectuals should be shot because they were allegedly "destroying" the country.[3]
