Blade Neville Thomson (born 4 December 1990) is a New Zealand rugby union player who plays as a lock or loose forward for Taranaki in the ITM Cup[1][2] and for the Super Rugby franchise the Hurricanes.[3] Thomson has international experience as well with the New Zealand national under-20 side.[4]

Having been a member of the Template:Rut Hurricanes Wider Training Group in 2012 he will join the senior squad for the 2013 Super Rugby season.

Thomson was a member of the New Zealand Under 20 team that won the 2010 IRB Junior World Championship in Argentina,[5] where the 197 cm forward played alongside the likes of Crusaders Tyler Bleyendaal and Tom Marshall and All Black winger Julian Savea.[6]

Thomson missed the 2017 Super Rugby season due to shoulder reconstruction surgery.

He is due to join the PRO14 team the Scarlets at the beginning of the 2018 - 2019 season.
