Flag of Mississippi
The flag of Mississippi echoes the Confederate 'Stars and Bars' flag and the Confederate battle flag. It was adopted in 1894.
In the late 1990's, the Mississippi people opted to retain the original image, over a new 'politically correct' flag that some considered less offensive.
