Brahmanand S Siingh (born 3 May 1965) is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter based out of Mumbai. He is best known for his films like Kaagaz Ki Kashti, a biopic on Jagjit Singh [1] and his feature-length documentary on R. D. Burman, Pancham Unmixed: Mujhe Chalte Jaana Hai.[2]
Siingh's current feature project, Jhalki ... [3] is a feature film that attempts to create public awareness of this global problem at a large scale through an engaging social thriller.
Early life and education
Brahmanand S Siingh grew up in Purnia, Bihar. Later he moved to St Xavier's College Ranchi and eventually to Kolkata[4] University for his English Literature Masters.
His journeys into cinema, however started within a year of his moving to Mumbai[4] in 1993.
Career
Brahmanand started off as a writer in late 80s, while in college and wrote on Cinema, Literature, Art, Music and other human stories of interest and excitement. Late nineties onwards, filmmaking started gaining precedence over writing and since then has made many biographical documentaries,[5] Independent and smaller films.
