American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars has released two studio albums, one extended play, sixteen singles (including seven as a featured artist), six promotional singles and thirteen music videos. Mars began his career in 2009 as part of the record production and songwriting team, The Smeezingtons.[1] Mars provided guest vocals on the debut singles of American rappers B.o.B ("Nothin' on You") and Travie McCoy ("Billionaire") in early 2010. Both songs were a commercial success worldwide, as the former peaked at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Mars released his debut extended play, It's Better If You Don't Understand, in May 2010, as a prelude to the release of his debut studio album Doo-Wops & Hooligans in October of the same year. The album peaked atop the charts in several countries and sold six million copies worldwide.

Proceeding the release of Doo-Wops & Hooligans, two singles—"Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade"—were released. Both songs are among the best-selling singles of all time, and have sold 12.5 million and 10.2 million copies worldwide, respectively.[2] "Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade" reached number one in several countries, including the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland and the United Kingdom. The album's third single, "The Lazy Song", peaked in the top ten worldwide, with sales of 6.5 million copies. As a result, it is one of the best-selling singles of all time.[2] Two additional singles—"Marry You" and "Count on Me"—were issued from the album, and achieved moderate commercial success. To promote the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011), Mars recorded "It Will Rain", a song that was issued as the lead single from the soundtrack of the same name. The song was a commercial success worldwide, peaking at number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Mars' second studio album, Unorthodox Jukebox, was released in December 2012 which spawned the worldwide hits "Locked Out of Heaven" and "When I Was Your Man".
