Canadian University Dubai (CUD) was established in 2006 to deliver high-quality undergraduate, graduate, continuing and corporate education in the UAE, and to provide a gateway for students to pursue higher education opportunities in Canada.

Canadian University Dubai is located in the heart of downtown Dubai and each of our academic programs is based on Canadian curriculum and education principles. This gives students the opportunity to obtain a Canadian education while experiencing the unique culture and values of the United Arab Emirates. With over 100 different nationalities that call our University home, our diverse student community is building bridges across cultures and continents in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.

The goal of Canadian University Dubai is to move each individual forward as a well-rounded, lifelong learner and a good global citizen. To achieve this, emphasis is placed not just on academic achievement, but also on extracurricular involvement. Canadian University Dubai's vibrant student life provides something for everybody, from sports to concerts, and various international trips in between. Canadian University Dubai Learning Research Centre[edit]

The Canadian University Dubai encourages students to use the materials that are available in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) for independent learning, research needs or personal improvement. Access to the LRC, loan of materials or electronic resources are available to all Canadian University Dubai students, faculty and staff.

The Learning Resource Center is located at the ground floor of Building A of the university campus.

The LRC houses over 10,000 print collection including books, journals and newspapers and a wide range of electronic resources; access to over 52,000 e-journals, over 494,000 e-books, 16,000 electronic videos, 2 million electronic images, access to 1.4 million titles of electronic Theses/Dissertations, over 300,000 accesses to Company Reports and Data. These electronic resources can be access on and off campus 24/7.

LRC holds a series of information literacy to all CUD students and faculty every semester. CUD-LRC has an agreement with British Library that provides interlibrary loan whenever information required by the students and faculty is not available in the LRC.

LRC use the Library of Congress Classification. Computers and Wifi connections are available within the premises. There is also photocopying and printing services available in the LRC.[1]

History[edit]

Canadian University Dubai was originally known as Centennial University of Dubai, but was then changed to Canadian University Dubai once it became an independent Canadian institution, however, it still maintains its ties with the original Ontario based university and offers students transfer programs after their second year.[4]
