Musicians' alleged bisexuality should be subject to the same verification criteria as any other information. For a lot of the people listed here, there is no evidence presented whatsoever that they're bisexual. Lyrics don't count: musicians often write in character.

Any chance of CRITERIA?[edit]

The truth is that I dislike categories like this, because they almost always violate WP:POV, [WP:NOR]] and WP:V. This one, like some similar ones, is terribly subjective, but is made even worse by absence of any description of who should be included.

For example, I added some quotations on the Talk:David Bowie page where Bowie describes himself as formerly being a "closet heterosexual." If we take his most recent statement, he should be excluded from this category. Unless he made an even more recent statement I don't know about... Of course, if we take other earlier statements by Bowie, he should be included. So what counts? The one that is more "believable"? Any statement at any point? The most recent statement? In the absence of a statement by the musician her/himself, what might count? Any gossip column anywhere? A "reliable" source? The corresponding WP article? Etc?

At the least, the page ought to provide some guidelines for editors to know whether or not to add a given musician, not just leave it to every editor's guess about "what might this category mean". Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 19:28, 14 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Is Wikipedia out to 'out' every celebrity whether they are straight or gay? Is this a gay community? For istance there is nothing in Joan Baez' article to prove she is bisexual yet she is listed in the group of bisexual musicians. ~~MRMAGOO3~~

Self-Aggrandizement?[edit]

Who the hell is User:MickWithoutGlasses/Matt? Does Wikipedia exist to give (some of) its members some kind of spurious fame and/or recognition? Unless anyone tells me otherwise, I'm going to regard this as vandalism. Nuttyskin (talk) 16:25, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
