Category purging[edit]

September 3, 2006 saw the sudden removal of the Category:Environmental Science from almost thirty articles by User:Maurreen. While I agree that some of these articles, such as water cycle don't need this label (as it's supposed to emphasize humans' interaction with the natural environment), but others including Diesel Particulate Matter and Acid mine drainage seem to be perfect candidates for this category. I wasn't able to find any talk pages about this purging, but due to its scale I'm reluctant to re-label articles with Category:Environmental Science without some other opinions. Thoughts?
