Parade High School All-Americans

[edit]

"Category:Parade High School All-Americans (boys' basketball)" is one of five properly spelled subcategories of the parent "Category:Parade High School All-Americans"; the other four properly spelled subcategories being "Category:Parade High School All-Americans (football)," "Category:Parade High School All-Americans (girls' basketball)," "Category:Parade High School All-Americans (boys' soccer)," and "Category:Parade High School All-Americans (girls' soccer)." I created the original parent category and populated it with the football All-Americans. Rikster2 created the subcategories and populated them; these new subcategories were misspelled (specifically, the plural possessive nouns boys' and girls') and are inconsistent with standard WP naming conventions (i.e., we properly use "men's college basketball," not "men college basketball" or "mens college basketball"). This was mentioned and ignored at the end of the related CfD discussion. Afterward, Rikster acknowledged that the plural possessives in the subcategories were misspelled and needed to be corrected; I agreed to take care of that (please see discussions on my talk page @ User talk:Dirtlawyer1#Parade All-American categories). The other incorrectly spelled subcategories have already been depopulated and are now pending speedy deletion; it remains to depopulate the incorrectly spelled "boys basketball" subcategory, populate the correctly spelled "boys' basketball" subcategory, and then delete "boys basketball." Contemporaneously with this talk post and the insertion of the "hang on" tag on this category page, I have also requested the speedy move/renaming of the incorrectly spelled "Category:Parade High School All-Americans (boys basketball)" to the correctly spelled "Category:Parade High School All-Americans (boys' basketball)" on the CfD page. Thank you. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 11:54, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
