Justification for this category?[edit]

(cf. Category:Frank Zappa songs) Is there any particular reason for there being two categories for Zappa songs? I propose deleting Category:Songs written by Frank Zappa and moving the few songs that are not yet part of Category:Frank Zappa songs to Category:Frank Zappa songs. --Fibbo (talk) 22:35, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you are right. Just noticed "Ring of Fire" and "Sunshine of Your Love" (both performed by Zappa but obviously not written by him). However, shouldn't we rename "Frank Zappa songs" to "Songs performed by Frank Zappa" to avoid ambiguity (as you yourself suggested on the referenced page)? It seems to me that now would be good time while there are still only few articles about Zappa songs. Or is the nomenclature "xxx songs" set in stone? I totally agree. Unfortunately too many editors think "Foo songs" is correct because it has precedence. If you want to fight that fight let me know and I will join in... even though I think it's a losing argument. --Richhoncho (talk) 00:30, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
