Ambiguous title[edit]

@Fayenatic london: I have concerns with this category redirect given Barmer is ambiguous, and the Indian city and district are not coterminous. There is no Category:Transport in Barmer district at this time to justify {{Category disambiguation}} but there could be (see Category:Transport in India by district). Any thoughts? Thanks, -- Black Falcon (talk) 18:16, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I generally keep category redirects after disambiguation moves, where there is not yet a category for a second possible meaning. This may serve as a low-key prompt to create a disambiguation page as soon as a second possible target is created.
In this case I agree that a category for the district could be useful, as there are at least two sub-cats and one highway article that would belong in it. – Fayenatic London 18:34, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I do see your point but that increases the risk of miscategorization since RussBot automatically moves any page tagged with a redirected category into the target category—i.e. if someone adds the redirected category, without checking, to an article about transport in the district, RussBot would automatically move the article into the city-level category.
In this case, however, I will go ahead and create the district-level category (thank you for pointing out the highway article), after which this can be converted to a disambiguation page. Cheers, -- Black Falcon (talk) 19:11, 15 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
