Chalappalem (చలప్పాలెం) is a village/hamlet in Santhanuthala padu Mandal, Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, India.[1]

It comes under Mynampadu Panchayath and lies in the Andhra region. It is located 14 km west of District headquarters Ongole. 4 km from Santhanuthala Padu. 298 km from the State capital Hyderabad. Other cities close to Chalappalem are Kandukur, Chirala, and Vinukonda.

The local language is Telugu. The area of Chalappalem is 2270 hectares.[1]

It acts as a trading hub for leafy greens and other vegetables. Its economy is heavily dependent on agriculture, specializing in tobacco, chickpeas and rice. Chalappalem gets its water from various sources, including Nagarjuna Saga's Right Canal and bore wells.
