In August 2007, while on Fox News, he said regarding the looming recession and housing crash that the, "worst was over." He went on to suggest buying financial stocks just prior to their mass collapse in price. Then again in December 2007, while on Fox News, he claimed that by the second half of 2008 the, "housing market would be a lot better than it's been in 2007, [as well as] the auto market." He went on to claim that unemployment would dip to 4.7%. He then recommended the purchase of [[Washington Mutual]] bank stock prior to its filing of [[Chapter 11 bankruptcy]].
