Church of the Highlands is a non-denominational, charismatic Christian megachurch in Birmingham, Alabama. It is a multi-site church with campuses in several Alabama cities. In addition to the primary church experience, Church of the Highlands offers church online as well as an extensive prison ministry hosted at many of the correctional facilities in the state of Alabama.

The church was founded on February 4, 2001 by Pastor Chris Hodges and a core group of 34 people. In 2008, Outreach Magazine named Church of the Highlands the fastest growing church in the United States.[1] It is the largest church in Alabama,[2] with approximately 32,500 members attending its fourteen campuses on an average Sunday.[3]

Purpose

To reach people with the life-giving message of Jesus Christ so that they may find purpose and develop a relationship with God.

They focus on four things which include helping people to

  1. Know God
  2. Find Freedom
  3. Discover Purpose
  4. Make a difference

This is achieved by taking people on a spiritual journey through the Growth Track, a process where the beliefs and ideas of the Church of the Highlands are explained on a more personal level.

Campus Locations

Church of the Highlands simulcasts the sermon portion of the service from the Grants Mill campus to its other campuses via video feed. Each campus has its own pastor, worship experience, and small group gatherings.
